The Anti-Money Laundering and Combatting the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) policies of Metropolitan Insurance Brokers, as per the UAE Central Bank laws, are guided by a comprehensive regulatory framework. Key components include:

• Dedicated AML/CFT Department: The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) established a dedicated department in August 2020 for handling all AML/CFT matters, focusing on examining licensed financial institutions, ensuring adherence to the UAE’s legal and regulatory framework, and identifying threats and vulnerabilities in the financial sector.; 
• Federal Decree and Cabinet Decisions: The Federal Decree No. (20) of 2018, a fundamental pillar of the UAE’s AML/CFT efforts, established a committee dedicated to AML/CFT objectives and an independent Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). Cabinet Decisions in 2020, such as No. (74) and (58), have further tightened the regulatory regime, focusing on terrorism lists, beneficial ownership transparency, and combatting terrorist financing.
• Adherence to FATF Recommendations: The UAE’s compliance with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) 40 Recommendations is crucial. The Mutual Evaluation Report (MER) issued by FATF in April 2020 assesses the UAE’s compliance and effectiveness in AML/CFT measures. The National AML/CFT Committee revised the UAE’s National Strategy to align with risks identified in the MER, supported by an enhanced National Action Plan.; 
• Reporting Suspicious Transactions: The UAE FIU, responsible for analyzing suspicious transactions and activities, requires financial institutions to report any suspicious transactions, activities, or funds suspected to be linked to crimes, including money laundering and terrorism financing, without delay.; 
• CBUAE's Procedures and Standards: Compliance with the Federal Decree-Law No. (20) of 2018, its Executive Regulation, and CBUAE's instructions, guidelines, and notices are mandatory for financial institutions. Specific regulations and standards are issued for different financial sectors, including insurance.;
